Two tabs on the bell
The bell in the top bar of the admin panel has two tabs. Alerts is what Paddl has noticed in your data: a missed check, an out-of-range reading, a certificate about to expire. Inbox is what is waiting on a person: things someone has sent you, or that have fallen due, and that only you or a colleague can clear. The Inbox replaces the old Reports tab.
What lands in it
Item | Where it comes from | How it clears |
|---|---|---|
Records awaiting review | A report a member of staff submitted from the app: an accident, a delivery check, a pest sighting, a complaint. A report marked as needing action stays until the action is recorded. | Open it, review it and say whether it needs action. |
Unacknowledged handovers | A handover or end-of-shift report you have not acknowledged yet. | Acknowledge it from the Inbox or from Operations > Handovers. |
Sign-offs owed | A risk assessment that people still need to sign. One line per assessment, with how many signatures are owed. | Chase or sign; the line goes when everyone has signed. |
Action points due | A point on an EHO report's action plan that is due within the week, or overdue. | Mark the point done, or not applicable, on the report. |
Who sees what
The Inbox is scoped to your sites. An owner sees every site; a manager sees the sites they manage and nothing from elsewhere. If you look after one venue of six, you see that venue's records, handovers, sign-offs and action points, not the whole group's.
Handovers only appear while the Handovers module is switched on. Switching a module off takes its items out of the Inbox rather than leaving them stranded.
The order
Anything overdue or marked as needing action comes first, then the rest, newest first. The number on the Inbox tab is how many items are waiting on you. The number on the bell itself also counts your open alerts and unread notifications.
Ask Paddy: "What's outstanding?" gives you the same list in chat, by site.
