When an update arrives
When your organisation publishes an update to an item your business has from its library, the owner and managers are told, Home shows it, and the item says an update is waiting, with the change note. Choose Review to open it. It waits until you decide.
Reviewing section by section
Each section shows the organisation's new version side by side with yours
For each section, choose to take the organisation's version or keep your own
If you changed a section yourself, the review says so, so you can decide whether to keep your change
When you have chosen for every section, press Take 2 parts (the button counts the parts you are taking), or Keep everything as it is. The parts you take change in your business straight away
Nothing changes in your business until you choose. A part the organisation locked can only be taken.
Required updates and locked sections
A Required update has a due date. You get a reminder three days before it, and after it the organisation sees the update as overdue.
A locked section is read-only in your business and can only change through the organisation's updates. You still review and approve the update.
The history line
Once you have chosen, the item's history shows who took which version and when, for example "Took version 5 from Your Group on 3 November, by Sam Patel". The audit pack carries the same line.
Making a copy your own
You can unlink an item from the organisation's master and make it your own. The organisation is told, and you stop receiving its updates for that item.
