What the library holds
The organisation keeps a library of master content in Organisation > Library. A master is the organisation's version of an item. Businesses get their own copies, linked to the master, so they can receive updates.
Six types of content can be masters:
HACCP plans
SFBB packs (UK only)
Risk assessments
SOPs and policies (knowledge pages)
Documents
Routines
Starting from a business's item
You do not have to write masters from scratch. Start from what a business already has.
Open the item in the business
Choose Add to organisation library
Paddl copies it into the library as a master and links the business's copy to it
Linking same-named items
When you add an item, Paddl offers to link items with the same name in other businesses too. Each business keeps its own content. Any differences from the master show up in the first update it receives.
Start from the library
A new business, or one just added to the organisation, is offered every master it does not have yet, all ticked. Choose Start from the library to take them in one go. Each one arrives as a draft for the business to approve.
Copy or library?
Copy to another business | Organisation library | |
|---|---|---|
Needs an organisation | No | Yes |
Who can use it | The owner of the business it comes from, who is also owner or an unrestricted manager in the other | The organisation |
Result | An independent draft | A draft linked to the master |
Later changes | Not passed on | Sent as updates the business reviews |
Use a copy for a one-off. Use the library for a standard you want to keep the same across businesses.
