What it is
Paddy reads what you keep in Paddl for an area, such as your insurance policies or the complaints logged this month, checks it against what applies to your business, and sets out what it found. Every area works the same way: a one-line verdict at the top, then a ranked list of findings, each with the one thing to do about it.

The verdict
The line at the top names the most pressing thing Paddy found, or says everything has been dealt with. Under it you see when Paddy last analysed the area, what it was based on, such as based on 4 of 5 documents, and how many findings are new or resolved since the last analysis. Where there is money to save, the possible saving shows with how it was worked out.
What Paddy found
Findings are ranked with the most pressing first, in the colours Paddl uses everywhere: red needs doing now, amber is worth doing soon, and blue is for your information. A finding can show:
A date, such as Due 3 Nov, or Was due once it has passed
An amount and what it is based on, such as once, or a year
Where it comes from: Open the document, Open the complaint, Open the review, or Read the guidance for the official source
On the all sites view, the site it is about
Eight show at first, and Show more lists the rest.
Where the facts come from. Dates, days and amounts are worked out by Paddl from your documents and records, not by Paddy. Business rates and tax relief figures come from the published rules, and Paddy only writes the words around them. Paddy only says something is a legal requirement when it is on Paddl's list of UK requirements, each checked against its official source.
What you can do with a finding
The button on the line does the one thing it needs, such as Upload, Upload the renewal, Answer or Review.
Create task opens a task already filled in from the finding, with its date.
Remind me on the finding's date puts a private reminder on your calendar and on your list that day. It shows while the date is still ahead.
Draft the email asks Paddy to write to your landlord, broker, supplier, accountant or council. Paddy drafts it in the chat for you to copy and send yourself; Paddl never sends it.
Done or Not applicable folds the finding away under the list. It stays that way in later analyses while it is about the same thing, even if Paddy words it differently. A complaint pattern, or an item's poor health, that is still there next month comes back. Put back returns it.
Something's wrong asks what Paddy got wrong. Once you send your note, the finding moves under the list as marked wrong, where Put back returns it, and we read every note to improve Paddy.
Owners and managers can act on findings. A manager who looks after some of your sites sees and decides the findings for those sites, and only someone who looks after every site sees the analysis of the whole business. Tax reliefs belong to the whole business, so only someone who looks after every site sees them. Any manager can read the contracts analysis, but only someone who looks after every site can run it or decide its findings.
When it runs
Every Monday morning, for every area your business uses
After you upload a document for the area, once Paddl has read it, or save your tax relief answers
When you click Analyse now or Analyse again. You can ask once a week for each site, and the page says when you can next. A run Paddy could not finish does not count. Equipment has no button: it follows the weekly health check.
Equipment health is checked every week from each item's temperature records and service history, and Paddy's analysis follows it. Complaints and reviews need enough to go on: 5 complaints or 3 reviews in the last 30 days.
While Paddy is working, the page says so and updates itself when the analysis is ready. If Paddy could not write its part, the page says that too: the checks Paddl makes itself still ran, and their findings are there. Try again later.
Past analyses
Past analyses lists the earlier runs for the area, with how many findings each one had.
Elsewhere in Paddl
Every red and amber finding is in your Inbox. Red ones, overdue ones and amber ones due this week also land under Requires attention on Home. If you can decide a finding, Done is on its row.
The weekly compliance summary email lists the red and amber findings that are new that week and not yet dealt with.
Ask Paddy what it found, such as "what is outstanding on our lease?". Paddy can list findings, create a task from one, mark one done or not applicable, or analyse an area again.
Switch an area off under Settings > Modules and Paddy stops analysing it, and its findings leave Home and the Inbox.
