Let Paddl do the typing
You do not have to build Paddl by hand. Upload the paperwork you already have, and Paddl reads each document, works out what it is, and pulls the detail into the right place for you to check. This is how most businesses get set up in minutes rather than days.
Where to upload
During onboarding: the setup wizard asks you to upload your documents and builds your account from them.
Any time after: use the smart upload option, or upload into a specific section (such as Insurances or Allergens) and Paddl extracts that document type.
Accepted files include PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, and photos or scans (JPG, PNG). Most files up to around 25MB are fine, with a smaller limit for images.
What Paddl can read and build
Upload this | Paddl builds |
|---|---|
Your menu | Allergen matrix items with their allergens |
Supplier specs or datasheets | Allergen detail pulled from the supplier |
Policies, SOPs, manuals | Knowledge Hub pages that power Ask Paddy |
An existing HACCP or food safety doc | A draft HACCP plan |
Insurance policy | An insurance record with cover, limits, and renewal, plus insights |
Licence or permit | A licence record with type, expiry, and conditions |
Lease | A lease record with rent, term, and break clauses |
Business rates bill | Rateable value and a relief check |
Risk assessments | Draft risk assessments |
You always review before it is saved
Extraction is a head start, not the final word. Paddl shows you what it found so you can correct anything before it is saved, and you stay responsible for accuracy (allergens especially). Processing happens in the background, so for a big upload give it a moment and check back.
Tip: The more you upload, the more complete your account and the better Ask Paddy answers, because your documents become searchable knowledge. See Knowledge Hub and Ask Paddy.
Already have data in a spreadsheet?
For lists such as equipment, suppliers, or allergens, a CSV import is often quicker than document extraction. See Importing Data with CSV.
