When to use CSV import

If you already have a list in a spreadsheet, importing it is far quicker than typing each entry. CSV import is available for:

  • Equipment, from the Equipment section

  • Suppliers, from the Suppliers section

  • Allergens, from the Allergens section

How it works

  1. Open the relevant section and click Import

  2. Download the template so your columns match what Paddl expects

  3. Fill it in and upload the file

  4. Map your columns if prompted, then check the preview

  5. Confirm to import

Allergens: check the preview carefully

The allergen import shows a preview of changes before you commit. Keep the allergen columns in the template order, because reordering them can tag the wrong allergen against an item (gluten showing as milk, for example). See Allergen Matrix.

Documents instead of a spreadsheet?

If your information is in a document rather than a spreadsheet (a menu, a supplier spec, a policy), let Paddl read it instead. See Smart Document Uploads & AI Setup. Routines and menus can also be built by uploading a file for Paddl to extract.
