Why log visitors
Logging visitors gives you a record of who was on the premises and when, which supports safety, security, and licensing. Visitors are lightweight: there is no account to create, just a sign-in record. Manage them under Team > Visitors.
Two ways to sign a visitor in
Method | How it works |
|---|---|
Fill in details | You enter the visitor's details and they are checked in straight away |
Send a link | You send the visitor a link to a self sign-in form; they complete it themselves and are checked in on submit |
What you capture
Pick the visitor's role (for example door staff or cleaning) and location, then capture the relevant details. Role-specific fields appear automatically, such as a badge number and expiry or a body-cam number for door staff, plus any notes.
Check-in and check-out
A logged visitor is checked in with a timestamp. Check them out when they leave, and Paddl will also auto-check-out visitors a couple of hours after the location closes so nobody is left showing as on site overnight.
Seeing who is on site
The visitors screen shows who is currently on site, how many visited over a period, and anyone whose self sign-in link is still outstanding. Filter by date range, role, status, and location. Managers can also see and check out on-site visitors from manager mode in the app.
