What this does

A forecast rule checks the day's weather at a time you choose and creates a task for the team when your conditions are met. For example, on a sunny, warm day it can create a task to put the banner out and open the umbrellas.

Set it up

  1. Go to Operations > Automations > New automation and pick the Sunny day banner prompt template (or another forecast template).

  2. Under Only when, set the conditions: forecast is sunny, max temperature is at least a value, or rain probability is at least a percentage. All ticked conditions must be true.

  3. Set the time of day the check should run, usually around opening.

  4. Write the task title and any details for staff.

  5. Set the location scope and click Create automation.

No duplicate tasks

A forecast rule creates its task at most once per location per day for each scheduled time, so you will never get duplicates even though Paddl checks the forecast regularly.

Where the task appears

The task shows up in the assist app task list for the assigned staff or group, exactly like any other task.
