Tracking equipment
The Equipment section holds your fridges, freezers, ovens, dishwashers, and anything else worth tracking, along with its servicing, maintenance, and electrical safety records.
Adding equipment
Go to Equipment and click Add Equipment
Enter the name, type, and category
Add make, model, serial number, and location
Set a servicing schedule if it needs one
Adding fridges and freezers here also lets staff pick them from a list when logging temperature checks.
Importing an equipment list
Already have your equipment in a spreadsheet? Upload it with the smart uploader, map the columns once, and Paddl creates the records in one go. Pick the location they belong to during the import.
Generate a maintenance routine or risk assessment
Open a piece of equipment and use Set up maintenance routine to draft a recurring maintenance routine from its type and service interval, or Generate risk assessment to draft a risk assessment for operating it. Both are drafts you review and edit before saving. After importing an equipment list, Paddl also offers to generate a single risk assessment covering the equipment.
Servicing, maintenance, and PAT testing
Set a service date and frequency, and Paddl alerts you when it is due
Log maintenance records with the date, engineer, and findings
Track PAT testing for electrical safety, with its own expiry alerts
Attach manuals, service reports, and certificates to each item so they are easy to find
Linked to your food safety controls
Equipment can be linked to the CCPs in your HACCP plan. That connection means a fridge that goes offline or overdue for service can raise a food safety alert, not just a maintenance one.
