What handover reports are for

A handover report is how staff flag anything the next shift or a manager needs to know: stock running low, a piece of equipment playing up, a safety issue, or general notes. This is Paddl's version of an end-of-day or end-of-shift report.

Submitting one from the app

  1. Open the Paddl Assist app

  2. Start a report or handover

  3. Add your notes and flag anything urgent (stock, equipment, safety)

  4. Submit

How the next shift sees it

When someone checks in, the app shows them the previous shift's handover so nothing gets missed at the change of shift. It also sits as a card on the home screen, so a handover is not lost if the pop-up is dismissed or the person was already checked in. The handover stays until someone reads it or the next shift writes a newer one that replaces it. Reading it clears it.

This works even when a whole venue shares one login on the bar tablet. The closing shift and the opening shift are signed in as the same account, and the opening shift still gets the note the closing shift left, because Paddl only hides a handover you wrote during the shift you are currently on, not one from an earlier shift.

On an older app version? Handovers only reaching the next shift, and staying on the home screen until read, arrived in a recent update. If a venue on a shared login is not seeing the last shift's notes, update to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.

Where managers pick them up

Managers see handovers in manager mode under Overview, and in the admin panel under Alerts > Reports. You can filter by type, status, location, and date, and acknowledge a handover to clear it.

Looking for an "end of day report"? There is no menu item with that exact name. The handover report above is the thing you want, and the full list lives under Alerts > Reports.
