When to update your plan
A HACCP plan should reflect what your kitchen does today. Update it whenever something material changes, such as a new menu or recipe, a new supplier, a new cleaning chemical, or a change to your equipment, and again at your scheduled review. You do not need to start from scratch each time; you update the plan you already have.
Review your plan with AI
Open the plan from Food Safety > HACCP Plans
Go to the Verification & Reviews tab
Click Review with AI
Paddl checks the plan against your current menu, allergens, COSHH chemicals, and recent activity, then shows a short summary of whether it is still adequate and a list of suggested changes. Each suggestion explains why it is there, for example a new chemical that needs a control point or an allergen that is not yet covered.
Apply the changes you want
Click Apply on a suggestion to fold it into the plan. You choose which ones to apply, so nothing changes without you
Advisory items are shown for you to handle by hand rather than applied automatically
Applying a change updates the plan through the normal route, so the version history and staff sign-off are handled for you. On a multi-site plan, the change flows down to each site
Sign off a review
When you are happy, click Complete review with these findings. This prefills a formal review with the AI summary so an owner or manager can sign it off, leaving a clear record that the plan was checked, when, and by whom.
Editing by hand
You can still edit anything directly. Open the plan and click Edit to change the scope, process steps, policies, CCPs, review frequency, or sign-off setting, and click Export PDF to download the full plan for an inspection. For the full picture see Creating, Editing & Exporting HACCP Plans.
Update instead of creating a duplicate
If you start the HACCP builder again and a plan already exists, Paddl asks whether to update the existing plan or create a new one. Choose update unless you genuinely need a separate plan, so you keep the plan's history, version, and sign-offs.
