Pest control in Paddl
Pest control is a legal duty and something inspectors always check. Paddl keeps your routine checks, sightings and contractor visits together so the history is complete. All of it sits on the Pest control chip of Food Safety > Records; the old Pest Control page sends you there.
Routine pest checks
On the Checks tab, the chip shows completions of your pest control routines, such as bait stations, fly killers and proofing. Set the routine up once, as any other routine, and the checks happen on schedule and are logged automatically. A food venue is expected to run one, so a dot on the chip means you have no pest routine yet: the missing row offers to set one up, or an owner can record that it does not apply.
Recording a sighting
When a staff member spots a pest or signs of one, such as droppings, gnaw marks or flies, they record a sighting from the app, or you can file one from the Reports view of the chip. Capture what was seen, where and when, so it can be actioned and closed out. Sightings are reports: they are never "missing", and no sightings is good news.
Contractor visits
Booked and completed visits show in a banner above the checks, from your appointments. The report or certificate a contractor leaves is filed under Documents in the Pest control category, with its date, so you can show a continuous record of professional cover. The EHO visit page shows all three together: check completion, open sightings and the last visit.
