What SFBB is

Safer Food, Better Business is the Food Standards Agency's food safety management system for small food businesses in the UK. Paddl gives you a digital SFBB pack with AI-assisted setup and sign-off tracking, instead of a paper folder.

Availability: SFBB is a UK system. If your business country uses a different framework, you will see the equivalent food safety management tools in the same place.

Generate your pack

  1. Go to Food Safety > SFBB

  2. Click Generate SFBB Pack

  3. Paddl populates the pack from the active SFBB template and your business context, such as your complaints, training, equipment, and pest control records

  4. Create a pack per location or one for the whole business

Sections, assignment, and sign-off

A pack is organised into sections of fields and checklists. Open it to assign it (business-wide, by location, or to named users and groups) and to manage sign-off. Staff review the relevant sections and sign in the app, and the admin panel tracks who has and has not signed. Each pack carries a status of draft, active, archived, or expired.

Automatic regulatory updates

Paddl checks the FSA each week for changes to the SFBB templates. When a template changes, you are notified and can review what is different before applying the update and re-collecting sign-off, so your pack never quietly falls out of date.

From SFBB to daily routines

Cleaning and temperature sections in SFBB can generate matching routines so the things your pack promises actually appear as daily checks for staff. You can also export the pack to PDF for your records or an inspection.
