Paddl's alert system keeps you informed about important events that need your attention. Alerts appear on your dashboard and can be filtered by type, severity, and location.
Alert Types
Paddl monitors your business and generates alerts for:
Equipment service due - equipment needing scheduled maintenance
Equipment offline - equipment marked as out of service
Overdue routines - tasks that were not completed on time
Out-of-range readings - temperature or other readings outside safe limits
Document expiring - documents approaching their expiry date
Missed check-ins - staff who did not check in for their shift
Risk assessment due - assessments needing review
Signature required - documents awaiting staff signatures
SFBB template updates - new versions available from food.gov.uk
Equipment wear risk - AI-detected equipment issues
HACCP review due - HACCP plans needing periodic review
CCP breaches - Critical Control Point limit exceeded
Alert Severity
Alerts are categorized by severity:
Critical (red) - Requires immediate attention, may affect food safety or compliance
Warning (amber) - Should be addressed soon to prevent issues
Info (blue) - Informational, no immediate action required
Viewing Alerts
Access alerts from the main dashboard or navigate to Alerts in the sidebar. The alert count badge shows how many unread alerts you have.
Use the filters to narrow down alerts by type, severity, location, or date range.
Resolving Alerts
To resolve an alert:
Click on the alert to view details
Take the required action (e.g., complete the overdue task, schedule the service)
The alert will automatically resolve when the underlying issue is fixed
For informational alerts, click "Mark as Read" to dismiss
Alert Notifications
You can configure how you receive alert notifications in Settings → Notifications. Options include:
Push notifications to the mobile app
Email notifications (immediate or digest)
In-app notifications
Critical alerts are always sent immediately. You can customize notification preferences for other severity levels.
