Paddl's alert system keeps you informed about important events that need your attention. Alerts appear on your dashboard and can be filtered by type, severity, and location.

Alert Types

Paddl monitors your business and generates alerts for:

  • Equipment service due - equipment needing scheduled maintenance

  • Equipment offline - equipment marked as out of service

  • Overdue routines - tasks that were not completed on time

  • Out-of-range readings - temperature or other readings outside safe limits

  • Document expiring - documents approaching their expiry date

  • Missed check-ins - staff who did not check in for their shift

  • Risk assessment due - assessments needing review

  • Signature required - documents awaiting staff signatures

  • SFBB template updates - new versions available from food.gov.uk

  • Equipment wear risk - AI-detected equipment issues

  • HACCP review due - HACCP plans needing periodic review

  • CCP breaches - Critical Control Point limit exceeded

Alert Severity

Alerts are categorized by severity:

  • Critical (red) - Requires immediate attention, may affect food safety or compliance

  • Warning (amber) - Should be addressed soon to prevent issues

  • Info (blue) - Informational, no immediate action required

Viewing Alerts

Access alerts from the main dashboard or navigate to Alerts in the sidebar. The alert count badge shows how many unread alerts you have.

Use the filters to narrow down alerts by type, severity, location, or date range.

Resolving Alerts

To resolve an alert:

  1. Click on the alert to view details

  2. Take the required action (e.g., complete the overdue task, schedule the service)

  3. The alert will automatically resolve when the underlying issue is fixed

  4. For informational alerts, click "Mark as Read" to dismiss

Alert Notifications

You can configure how you receive alert notifications in Settings → Notifications. Options include:

  • Push notifications to the mobile app

  • Email notifications (immediate or digest)

  • In-app notifications

Critical alerts are always sent immediately. You can customize notification preferences for other severity levels.
